Tequila Tromba is a boutique tequila produced in small batches in Arandas, Mexico. Tromba was co-founded by Canadian Eric Brass, his international partners and Marco Cedano, Mexico’s pre-eminent master distiller. Tequila Tromba has won many accolades and awards, most notably, second place with a rating of 93 at the 2012 Ultimate Spirits Challenge in New York City; and was named Globe and Mail’s wine and spirits Pick of the Week in May 2012, with a rating of 92/100. Tromba has become one of the top premium tequilas in Canada in a very short period of time.
With no advertising or marketing dollars to spend, Tromba has relied on grassroots programs, strong restaurant and bar relationships as well as word-of-mouth support to showcase the brand.
To celebrate the spirit of Mexican Independence Day, Tromba threw an epic fiesta – a Guinness Book of World Records event – the World’s Largest Tequila Tasting.
On September 19, 2013, we hosted nearly 1000 people to taste Tequila Tromba Blanco, Reposado and Anejo. Partnering with some of Toronto’s hottest restaurants and pop-up food vendors including Playa Cabana, Rock Lobster, Hot Bunzz and the Valdez, the night was set for Tequila Tromba to break the record for most people drinking tequila in one space in one line.
“We’ve spent the last few years in Toronto and across Australia changing the minds of spirit drinkers and introducing them to the incredible world of tequila,” said Eric Brass, co-founder of Tequila TROMBA. “This is a tequila revolution! And we are going to show our Mexican pride with one massive party.”

The “World’s Largest Tequila Tasting” generated good will with the local bartending and restaurant community, created new tequila lovers, reinforced its relationship with existing tequila drinkers, and above all, elevated the brands “cool” factor.
Soon after the event, Tequila Tromba secured listings in the LCBO for its Reposado and Anejo varietals. Additionally, the press and buzz from the event created credibility for the brand to secure expansion into the US.
After creating extensive document and video reports for submission, Wolff Public Relations secured Tequila Tromba the title of World’s Largest Tequila Tasting in the Guinness Book of World Records.
